Betrayal

Betrayal is a something else. I never thought I will go through something like this in my life. Well actually I did and I have but never with anyone that I use to care about some much. I never thought that someone from my family would do something like this.

What did they do? I wish I could tell you but there are spys among us. I know you read this. Caro, myself and a few of our other cousins are hurt, we are wounded by one of our own. I dont even know what to say. Just remember you made your choice and you said what you said, and now I have to make mine.

I hope you have a wonderful and bless life, Primito. May God Bless you.

When it hurts so bad.

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

- My Immortal by Evanescence

IF A MAN WANTS YOU

You got to love emails. A dear friend of mines sent me this email and I thought that I would share it with you guys and by the way this applie to both genders.

If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.
Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.
Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that's not meant to be.
Slower is better.
Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve
then heck no, you can't "be friends." A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend.
Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
Don't stay because you think "it will get better." You'll be mad at yourself
a year later for staying when things are not better.
The only person you can control in a relationship is you.
Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.
He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant,
Why would he treat you any differently?
Always have your own set of friends separate from his.
Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.
If something bothers you, speak up.
Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.
You cannot change a man's behavior. Change comes from within.
Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...even if he has
more education or in a better job. Do not make him into a quasi-god. He is a man, nothing more nothing less.
Never let a man define who you are.
Never borrow someone else's man.
Oh Lord! If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you.
A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.
All men are NOT dogs.
You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is a two-way street.
You need time to heal between relationships...there is nothing cute about
baggage... deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship
You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you...a relationship consists
of two WHOLE individuals...look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.
Dating is fun...even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr. Right.
Make him miss you sometimes...when a man always know where you are, and your
always readily available to him- he takes it for granted.
Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.
Keep him in your radar but get to know others.

Who's This?

*Sight* Umm what am I doing? Oh yeah, I now remember sorry the sight of that man makes me forget everything else. My novio, is on Times 100: The People Who Shape Our World list. I just had to share that with you guys, you know I will keep you updated on everything having to do with DY, in a non-stalker kind of way. Oh he also has some kicks (as the kids say) coming out with Reebok because Reebok knows what's up. When you go to the site go under Artist and chose Daddy Yankee, and you can read all about it. Goodness I love this man. Que Papi Chulo.

Oh speaking of Papi Chulos, El Papi Chulo List: Part 5 will be up soon. Also in June it will be the One Year Anniversary of El Papi Chulo List and you know we are going to do it big. Check out Part 5 for more details on the PAR-TY!

Funny storie about El Papi Chulo List, I was telling Kim that I was working one a new list and she said " you mean there are still more papi's left?" My replay " There is always more papi's"

As long as I am around there will always be more Papi's.

May I Recommend : Music Edition.

First of all I just want to say that I LOVE the cover...lol. This CD is HOT! I love Control Myself with J.Lo but that is not the only hot jam on this disc. Down the Aisle Ft 112 and the So Sick remix with Ne-Yo. Oh Pharrell did it again with Best Dress.

My girl Pink went and did it again. I love this album. With this album she went back to her M!ssundaztood days. I love her first single Stupid Girls. Pink gets the party started with U + Ur Hand. Which is the perfect song for going out clubbing with your girls. Who Knew, Long Way to Happy and I'm Not Dead are also amazing songs. An other song that I have to mention is Dear Mr President. In which she calls out Dubya with lyrics like " You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine"

Also I just wanted to mention that I am going to be M.I.A. for while due to the fact that my bosses dad passed away last week and I am now in charge. I will be back Either next week or in the beginning of June.

May I Recommend: Movie Edition

On Friday night I went with Jerry, X, Yessica, and Nat to see United 93. Since we can NEVER make it ANYWHERE on time we missed the first 5 min of the movie. United 93 is one of those movies that you go see even though you already know the ending.

If you have seen the trailer to this film and it upsets you, I suggest that you don't see the movie. It is as raw and real as Hollywood can be.

Watching ordinary people do ordinary things, in the first hour of a flight is almost unbearable. It is something that we have all done before.

During the second hour when the passengers realize what is going on and are told of the events on the ground; you cant help but cry as they call their loves one to say goodbye.

Close to the end of the movie there is a brief glimmer of hope as the passengers take control of the plane and try to stop their fate, but then you realize that this will not be one of those movies with a happy ending. At that moment and time you are reminded that you already know the ending of this film, we all sat and watched in stunned silence, as the plane crashes down, powerless to change the course of the history we are witnessing.

As we left the movie theater in silence, people wiped the tears off their faces while others held on to their love ones. Director Paul Greengrass did a beautiful job of honoring all of those who died.

Karla's Baby?

A few weeks ago my FAVORITE uncle came to visit from New York. We went through our normal routine. My uncle stand at the door and I stand in the hallway and he throws his arms up in the air and yells "KARLA" and I throw my arms up in the air and yell " TIO" and then we meet each other half way and hug. Then we go through something that goes like this.

Tio: "So how are you?"
Karla: " Good"
Karla: " and you, How are you?"
Tio: " Good, How is school, work?"
Karla: " Good, How is everyone?"
Tio: " Good"

So everything is going great, like it normally does when my uncle drops a bomb on me.

Tio: "So when are you coming to pick up your baby?"
Karla: " What?, My Que?"
Tio: (With a HUGE smile on his face) " Your baby"
Karla: " Ah, Tio I don't have children."
Tio: " Yeah, you do. You have a little girl."
Karla: " I do, since when?"
Tio: (laughing) " Since 8 months ago."
Karla: " Ah, Explain"

So my tio explains the whole situation to me. Eight months ago my cousin had a baby, and according to everyone the baby looks more like me then my cousins. So they have all decided that it is my baby and so my uncle would like for me to pick up my child.

That weekend my mother went to New York to visit my grandparents and her first words to me when I picked her up at the airport where " Did you have a baby and not tell me?"

Karla: " What? Ma have you been drinking?"
Mami: " Mira, Don't talk to me that way, and answer my question."
Karla: " No Ma, I did not have a baby. Why do you ask?"
Mami: " Because that little girl is the spitting image of you."

She brought me pictures to prove her point. So here is a picture of "My baby"(on top) and of yours truly as a baby(on the bottom). So you guys get to decide is this my child or is my family in need of an eye exam?

The cat came back.

Hey there blogging buddies, how is everyone?

As you can see I have return from my week in Colorado Springs. My week out of town was an interesting one to say the least.

Some how on Thursday I cut my foot. I washed it out put some Neosporin and a Band-Aid on it and went on my way. On Friday night my foot was swollen, bright red, hot and itchy. So I grab a bag of ice and went to bed. On Saturday I woke up and all the ice had melted, but my foot still looked the same. So I skipped my English class and went to the doctor, who freaked out when he saw my foot and start calling out orders to the nurse. I felt like I was in an episode of E.R.

An hour later after a super-powerful injections of antibiotics and black marker making the area around my infection I was on my way, I stopped by the pharmacy to drop off my prescription. The Doc, said it was ok for me to travel as long as I followed some guidelines, and promise to go to the hospital at the first sign of trouble. So I was able to attend my conference. I am glad I did. Not only did I learn a lot, I was also able to meet some really cool people.

One of the good things about "The Springs" are all the men in uniform out there. There are about three military bases in that area alone. So it is need less to say that no matter where you went in "The Springs" there were always plenty of men in uniform. So to answer your question Reese, yes I worked really hard during my conference :P

Going to Colorado Springs

Well folks here I go again, leaving to yet another city for yet another conference. This time my travels take me to Colorado Springs or "The Springs" as some people like to call it. I will be gone for a week this time, and when I return on Friday night it will be only to prepare myself for the conference I have on Saturday morning. After that I have yet another fun filled week of conferences but those are all here in Denver. I hope everyone has a nice weekend. Happy Easter ! I will see you when I return.

If

During my trip to the Muhammad Ali Center, I watched a movie about his life. During the movie they mention that the following poem is his favorite poem and that he try to live his life by what this poem said. I thought this poem was beautiful, and it affected me in more ways then i can express. I left the poem in its original state, when you get to the end you can change the gender if you like.

If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Avena Sunday

I have to say that Sunday is one of my favorite days of the week. Why do I love Sunday’s so much? Is it because of Desperate Housewives? Nope, I love that show but that is not the reason I love Sunday’s. I love Sunday’s because they are Avena Sunday’s (Oatmeal Sundays). My abuela use to make oatmeal all the time when I was little, and everytime she comes to visit everyone sits and wait for her to make her famous avena.

Now with her being sick and so far away the duty of making avena has fallen on my mother. All of my aunts know how to make avena, just like mama but none of them do. Mami is the one who gets up early on Sunday morning to make avena. I love helping my mami make avena during this time the house is usually quite (which is weird because there is ALWAYS people over at my house) and it just her and me cook a huge pot of avena. Once mass is over all of my aunts and uncles come over for a typical Dominican breakfast and a cup of Avena.

I know what you are thinking a cup? don’t you mean a bowl Karla? Nope it is a cup. You see my grandmother and now my mother make their avena different then what everyone else is use to. Our avena is more liquefied so that we can drink our oatmeal instead of eating it. Why? You ask, because back when my grandmother was a young mother she had to find a way to feed 18 children and her husband, and seeing as my grandparents were poor the only way to make a small amount of food go a long way was to liquefy it. So ever since then it has become a tradition in our family to drink our oatmeal instead of eating it. In a way it is a good reminder of where we came from.

During breakfast we call my aunts and uncles in New York and (when they are not in NY)my grandparents back in D.R. I always think of Sunday’s as a mini family reunion.

Breakfast is usually followed up with a trip to the local ballpark to watch the guy’s play softball and then we return back to my house for dinner. I love spending Sundays with my family. I find it to be so relaxing. It is a good way to regroup before going back to work the next day.

St. Patricks Day and Kentucky Pictures

So here they are the pictures you all have been waiting for. We will start with St. Patrick's Day.

Nataly and Caro came by to say goodbye before they went out to PARTY!

The night had not even started and these two were trying to eat each other...lol

Look it is me!

I knew that we were in trouble when this was the sign that greeted us in Atlanta...LOL!

We made it there with no problems.

The cool thing about Kentucky is that they have cool signs like this one all over talking about their history.
This is fourth street live where all the bars and hot clubs are at, they are not kidding about the street being closed and the party being open.

They have cool art work like this EVERYWHERE.

We went to the Louisville Slugger Museum. Which is one of the reason why Louisville is famous for.

Where we were able to get up close and personal with memorabila like this. Which is Yogi's old bat.

They are also famous for the Kentucky Derby.

On our last day there we went to the Muhammad Ali Center.
If you ever go to Kentucky, I suggest that you go the Muhammad Ali center. It was AMAZING.

The Ali Center from outside.

We were able to see old fights of The Greatest.

To end this post here is a picture of his most famous saying "Float like a butterfly, Sting like a bee."

And that was my trip to Kentucky, which was actually really cool. I had a good time and learned alot. See Dez I did post them :)
